Pre-School

Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Pre-School program develops young children’s readiness, curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm for learning. OLMC Pre-School offers certified experienced teachers and a warm, nurturing environment. Our students love to come to school, and are very well prepared for Kindergarten when they leave Pre-School.

The program for the three-year-olds explores the concepts of colors, shapes, initial letters and counting skills. Students strengthen their social skills, and develop problem-solving abilities through play and structured experiences. the three-year-olds attend gym class once a week, and have stories and music daily.

The Pre=School program for four-year-olds focuses on Kindergarten readiness. Students explore a “Letterof the Week” and learn sight words at the same time. Each week, students bring home a letter book to share with their families. The children also develop readiness skills in the areas of math, writing and religion. The four-year-olds have 5th grade buddies who read to them and participate in games and activities with them. Both the 5th graders and the pre-schoolers look forward to these visits.

Pre-School at OLMC is a bright and busy place filled with the sounds of learning and laughter. Here we build the foundation for future academic achievements and friendships. This is a great place to begin and a great place to grow.
